Network 1 requires maintenance of its basic needs and in return offers the benefits of physical existence and sensory awareness. Your body is the basic brain–world interface of you. The key to optimal functioning at N1 is good input (sleeping, nutrition, exercise, rest) and unified self use.

For billions of years, life has used molecules as the base language to pass blueprints of itself down from one generation to the next. A blueprint unique to you is encoded in your DNA, which is over 3 billion lines of code long. A copy of it lives in every cell in your body.
Growing your brain-world interfaceAt the moment of your conception your blueprint began constructing you. You were in utero for the first of your six major stages of growth: the development of your physical being. Formed into it are all the success strategies and wisdom of the billions-of-year-old research and development effort that has lead to you. This physical construct of you is the platform on which all the rest of your intelligence and awareness is built. To bring the plans of your DNA to life, all it needs is a place to develop (your mother’s womb) and good input, like optimal nutrients. If, for some reason, this platform is riddled with viruses, all other intelligence and abilities will be downgraded. If it is working optimally, you will be healthy, have a strong and balanced immune response, and a deep, pleasurable, and unified experience of your body and the world around you. Optimization of Net 1
Like a car, if you do not take care of the various components of Network 1, you won’t function well. If you don’t give your body/brain what it needs, it won’t do what you want. The optimization of Network 1 begins with the proper maintenance of your body and all its basic needs. This means staying within the parameters of healthy operation for each system.
Much of this requires good Input from you. Deep restful sleep, a healthy diet, high quality vitamins, enough water, etc. *Optimization and measurement of your physical platform is known as biometrics and is on the rise in our culture.
Crucial is the understanding that you never leave Network 1. It is critical to your high performance, health, and satisfaction, as well as the functioning of every other network. It is also one of the least well tended networks in Western culture and therefore needs special attention for most people. The more healthy and high functioning your physical platform is, the better all software will perform.
For the purposes of self programming we’re going to focus on the special operation of the nervous and muscular systems. Together, they are known as the neuromuscular or sensorimotor system, and are responsible for processing and executing all perception and movement.These systems are where experience & awareness occur. Above the atomic and molecular/ genetic code, this is the earliest programming language of you. We call it your machine code.You want this code to be optimized so that you’re using yourself in the most structurally sound way and pay attention to what’s most important to your N1 awareness.As with all the Net 1 systems, it is critical to know the healthy parameters of your five senses and biomechanics. For example: When do you cross from being on balance to being off-balance? What is the natural focal length of your eyes at rest?
When you are structurally and functionally well-formed, we say that you are Centered or in the Green Zone.
When you are structurally or functionally out of whack, we say you are off-center or in the Red Zone.
Critical to Net 1 is green zoning your body state.Your body state is the organization of your muscles and senses. It governs your in-the-moment experience, awareness, sensation, satisfaction, and performance.A green zoned body state is relaxed and ready, at ease, and potentiated for full response. It is a body in which you feel satisfied and at home. This kind of body state means your muscles and senses are organized in a very specific neurosomatic configuration. Getting familiar with what it feels like to have your muscles and senses organized in this way is job number 1 of Network 1. Resetting to this well-formed position is also an important Network 1 habit. If you’re not doing anything else, reset.
Thankfully, this is the position to which your body naturally wants to reset. You are, in fact, innately programmed to seek this deep experience of physical homeostasis. However, your Human Operating System is programmable. If you get bad input you will develop viruses and red zone behaviors that keep you off-center. And, if your basic physical platform has viruses, then nothing else will work well.
Behavioral Virus #1: Anxiety
The viruses of Network 1 are generally related to an interruption of your physical form through muscle tension or neurochemical imbalance. Theses impedences lessen and limit your awareness and performance. They degrade your sensual awareness, primal instincts, and innate performance. The most prevalent and fundamental of all Network 1 viruses is Anxiety. Whether experienced in the form of chronic tension, over-reactions to stress, or as panic attacks, anxiety degrades the functioning of your entire system, limiting your health, satisfaction, and performance. Before any other rebooting may properly occur, anxiety must be resolved. As you can imagine, you can be the greatest writer/architect/climber/athlete on the planet, but if you are chronically tense or off-balance, you will not be as healthy, satisfied, or optimized as you could be.
You want to begin all self programming at the level of your physical body. That means encoding your neuromuscular configurations and physical self use for optimal performance. This type of programming is called visceralization. Visceralization is the process of programming physical patterns of behavior – through experience – into your neuromuscular and sensorimotor system. These programs are pre-verbal, wired directly into the neurosomatic experience. Once they are established and mastered, like all other programs, they fade into the background to be run on automatic. The intention of neurosomatic programming is to only allow green zoned behaviors and prohibit any red zone activity. This is critical because your body state informs all other self use.
Relaxation: Your life altering hack
One of your most fundamental inborn habits is your relaxation response. Aside from simply shifting to the neurosomatic configuration of your own Centered state, relaxation is one of the fastest and most effective ways to get back to center. Sometimes, when you’re caught up in the moment, it’s hard to reset to your “factory shipped” perfection. However, at the ready is one of Net 1’s greatest gifts to you: the ability to Relax. Do it and do it often.
The Principles of Body Use
N1 doesn’t remember thoughts, emotions or rules. It remembers neuromuscular patterns. Among the most important patterns of self programming is mastery of the four principles of physical self use: balance, looseness, sensitivity, and body unity. Embodied, they ensure optimal organization and use of your physical self – the multidimensional focal lens of your in-time awareness. This is the best safeguard against anxiety and all other red zone activity. Simultaneously, it provides both stability as you design later networks and a potentiated system which is ready for rapid learning and effective action.
